The event will consist of a three-day conference in May 2008, combined with a number of separate networking events, including networking luncheons, a cocktail reception, and an exciting theme dinner on the second night.

The Value 2008 Conference will be held at Sun City in the North Western Province of South Africa, a ‘Bushveld’ venue which offers breathtaking natural scenery and immense versatility for a multi-faceted event.

The aim of Value 2008 Conference  is to present the dynamic financial  industry in a completely new way - combining a focused business-to-business conference with a startling interactive networking experience, allowing our guests to taste, smell, hear and sense value in the African context. Conference delegates - industry executives, academia and business leaders - will be invited to appreciate some of the latest financial publications and products displayed in a novel and creative manner.

In 2008, the Value 2008 Conference will take an in-depth look at the creation and delivery of value for and by Africa - one area with the biggest economic and financial growth potential in the world. Value 2008 will benefit from the attendance of some of the most prominent figures in the African financial market - both business leaders and top-end academics.

Origins of the Value 2008 Conference

The Value 2008 Conference has been perfectly timed to fall in the most suitable time in the tertiary institution’s calendar, in May 2008.  It is also ideally suited to business leaders in the financial industry after the financial year-end.  The Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences of the University of Johannesburg hosted the first Biennial Value Conference in 2006.  The first event was attended by attendees from 10 different countries from 4 different continents.  180 Participants shared information between the different financial disciplines and shed light on their unique views to contribute to the synergistic analysis of how each organisational function can truly add economic value in the financial world.
